About Us

The Rotary Club of Agartala City, established on October 13, 2002, proudly stands as the oldest club in Zone 16. Initially starting with just 22 members, the club expanded to 86 members during the 2022-23 Rotary year and currently comprises 69 members, including 22 women and 2 dual members. Additionally, the club has sponsored two Rotaract clubs, one Interact Club  and one RCC.

The club has made substantial contributions to The Rotary Foundation (TRF), with a total giving of USD 150,488. Club achievements in Foundation giving includes one Major Donor (MD)  Level 3, three MDs  Level 1, and one Couple MD, along with 32 Paul Harris Fellows (PHF) and 10 multiple PHFs. Remarkably, we have maintained a per capita Annual Fund (AF) giving of over USD 250 for the last five years.

The club is known for executing impactful community projects, such as the Anandamoyee Rotary Clinic, which offers charitable specialty healthcare to nearby community ; Rotary Annapurna, which provides free meals to over 100 people daily; and regular free cataract surgery camps, which include free lenses and spectacles for beneficiaries at Tripura Medical College. In the last Rotary year, RC Agartala City became the first club in the district to successfully complete the first batch of an adult literacy program, distributing certificates to the beneficiaries. Recently, the club’s maiden Global Grant Project, valued 58 lacs, was  approved and disbursed.

The club has also been active in hosting significant Rotary events, including SETUBANDHAN, an international multi-district fellowship event, the international Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI), and various district seminars on public image, literacy, and The Rotary Foundation. Our commitment to service and community development has enhanced their local reputation while also garnering recognition on a larger scale. Members of the Rotary Club of Agartala City actively engage in these initiatives, promoting a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. Their dedication to improving lives and fostering goodwill is evident in the diverse range of programs and projects we undertake.

In addition to charitable endeavors, the club prioritizes leadership development and educational opportunities for both its members and the community. Through workshops, seminars, and collaborative events, they strive to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for driving positive change, with 18 club members being RLI Graduates.

Looking ahead, the Rotary Club of Agartala City continues to seek new ways to make an impact, exploring innovative solutions to tackle local and global challenges. Our vision remains clear: to create a better, more inclusive world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. As we embark on new projects and partnerships, the club serves as a beacon of hope and exemplifies the power of collective effort in creating a meaningful difference.
